    I’m Carmen, the new Pilates instructor at Active Physiotherapy Mackay. I have been teaching Pilates for 3 years. Pilates is a tried and tested form of exercise that is designed to improve ‘function’ via increasing strength, flexibility, endurance and coordination. An unstable ‘core’ (lower back, abdominals and pelvis muscles) contributes to an increased risk of injury.

     Classes for 2018 at Active will be Pilates circuit.

    Pilates circuit, is a type of “interval training,” meaning it combines cardio elements that make you sweat with resistance training to build lean muscles.
